Well, we made it home. Thanks everyone for your prayers! We had a great time, a safe time, and most importantly the gospel was preached. Please continue to pray for the teens in Plains, MT and the Plains Alliance Church.
Well, the night went pretty well. Evan and Ashley both shared their testimonies amidst some ultimate frisbee and soccer. We had around 30 people there again tonight. Afterwards we invited everyone back to the church and we lit off some fireworks. We had probably 15 of the community kids come back and hang out. We've made some good contacts for Plains Alliance to follow up on (as well as us on facebook). We are thankful for your prayers and look forward to giving a report at church.
While we didn't have anyone come to us to talk Christ, we know that seeds were planted and the Gospel was made known. Please keep praying for Plains and the teens here.
We will be leaving on Saturday at 1:00 to head back to Spokane.
Today was the last day of VBS. We had some new kids which was great but unfortunately some of the others weren't able to come. We shared today exactly how to be saved. We didn't have any specific responses but we hope to hear about the fruit from these seeds. Afterwards we had rootbeer floats and a slip n slide.
This afternoon we went with some of the youth group kids to the river. We buried a few in the sand =) We had a good time getting to know them and having fun in the water.
Tonight went pretty well. We again started at 8:00 and at around 8:45 Christina shared her testimony. There was again around 30-45 people at the park and about 20-25 heard Christina share.
We started playing Ultimate Frisbee again and at around 9:50 Ashely H had one of those oh so fun sports knee injuries. She had her knee planted and then twisted and got run into all at the same time. While that's not the funnest thing to have happen, God had his purposes. We knew we wanted Amanda to share tonight but didn't know how to have a second icecream break. We took advantage of the "injury time out" to have Amanda share. There was "only" around 15-20 there paying attention but many of them were the local non-church kids.
We praise God for the opportunities to share. We are just now feeling like we are beginning to know these kids and don't really want to leave on Thursday...we want to do more next week! We're glad that Pastor John and the Alliance church can follow up.
Keep praying for us. Friday night is our last night and we want to have both Evan and Ashley L to share.
Thanks so much for your prayers! We again had 40+ people at the park. There were 30 people (including us probably half went to church) that listened to Theresa's testimony. She clearly shared what it means to be saved with everyone. Everyone was even sitting down in a half circle just listening! Praise the Lord for the Gospel going out. We had many new kids and a few returners. A few more from last night showed up late after Theresa had shared. Please keep praying for our kids and those that will come.
No one has really come to talk to us or really shown interest about the gospel yet but we know seeds are being planted. Again, if you'd like a list of kids, please email me at ben@avondalebiblechurch.org
Here we are handing out icecream before testimony time:
Good afternoon...or evening since it is 7:15. Today has been about the same as the past few days. VBS went well, although we did a few less kids today. It does primarily consist of 4-7 year olds. Please pray that they will grasp what we are trying to teach them.
This afternoon Preston, Ashely, and Ashley did the work project which was weed wacking and raking up the clippings to clear a vacant lot. You can see the fun in the pic below.
We'll be leaving in about 25 minutes to go to the park for the teen outreach. Please be praying for us from 8-10pm MT Time (7-9 Pacific).
Here's Bjorn and Pastor Ben
Well, tonight was a little different than expected. Unfortunately not many of the kids we invited came out tonight. However, one of the girls from the church had a birthday today and had some of her friends out there for a while, but they didn't stay to hear Ashely's testimony. We did however end up with probably 50+ people at the park. There were about 30 or so that were around to hear Ashely's testimony which we hope God uses. We also found out that many of them are Mormons. At least one is a missionary and there was an elder that was watching us and talking with someone else in the parking area. This is was great success in that it was Ashely's first time sharing her testimony outside of our mission team.
Please pray for tomorrow night as many of them said they'd be back tomorrow. The Mormon church is literally 100 yards from Plains alliance...I can see right now as I sit outside and type this. Mormonism can be a powerful stronghold. Please pray that God would break through that and use us this week. if you'd like specific names to pray for, email me at ben@avondalebiblechurch.org and I will give you some names to pray for. thanks for your support.
Please pray for Theresa as she's giving her testimony on Wednesday night. It will be around 9:15pm Mountain time.
We were at the park this afternoon and met some more kids. Please pray that Ian, Sierra, Connor, Colton, and Johnny would come back tonight at 8:00.
We had a few more kids at VBS today and things ran much smoother since we got the first day gitters out. Right now Evan, Amanda, and Christina are getting ready to go do a work project and the rest are napping/resting before heading down to the park at around 3:00. Please pray that we'll have contact with Robert, Josh, and Tyler again and the they'd come to the park tonight.
