  • Day #4

Wednesday Hey everyone the team is doing great!  This morning the boys went with John Eric and Shannon to hunt for a gator. We didn't have much luck, he was pretty smart. Then we came back and before we went to lunch with everyone Andrew, Kramer and I drove over to Clint's house to see his show pigs. It was pretty cool to see. The boys liked it and I could tell it ment a lot to him that we were there. He has won a ton of awards at shows with his pigs, and walked one around to show us. After that we had lunch at Cajun charlie's it was good, the boys all ordered alligator haha.  Vbs has been so much fun as we get to know the kids more each day. They are having a blast and we are praying that the Lord would have an impact in their hearts thru this. We also have heard of a need, Miss Shannon's sister is kind of homebound and needs the living areas of her home cleaned so I think Friday morning we are going to head over to help out.  The student time tonight was a bit different, we took everyone out for ice cream! It started with John, Tristan, Clint and Cory, but ended up being Clint and Cory that came. We had a blast singing crazy songs on the radio with them in the boys car. They are really cool kids. At the ice cream shop we got to talk to them about being a Christian in hackberry and what that's like. pray that we can further encourage them to reach their friends. We are also planning on having a party at the community center Friday where we will also present the gospel.  PRAYER REQUESTS: Pray that more kids will come tonight as we head back to the community center to hang out this afternoon and invite them. And that as we reach out the students would be receptive. Pray for Andrew to continue to get better. Pray for Jason's (the pastor here) dad who just had a mild heart attack, for wisdom for the doctors as try decide what to do next. Pray for Clint, Cory, John Eric, Shannon, Meagan, Tristan, and John the older students. Our big prayer as a team for today is that we would be able leverage the relationships that we've been able to build. Leverage them for the Lord, that as God brings opportunities we would step out without hesitation.

  • Day #3

Good morning from hackberry! Yesterday was such a blast we didn't have time to update. It was a packed day! At noon Jason's wife Tiffany invited us all over to swim and have lunch at there friends house, it was a perfect break since our car said it was 100 out! We had a great time there and then came back and some of us took naps before the vbs started. We ran games again yesterdy and spent a lot of time gaming out with kids during their snack time. This was so fun! We had a dance party with some of the younger kids (not sure if we're allowed to but it was so funny). During the vbs we got to hang out with Meagan, and Tristen and they both came to the later hang out time with the youth. We ended up having 5 more students come! It was fun and Jimmy and I talked about letting them have a long hang out time, and how that's what we've been waiting for. It was great and we got several invites to hang out, swim, and visit houses. Be praying that as these relationships build that we will have opportunities to talk about the Lord! Everyone left after a movie except for John Eric, Meagan and Shannon Meagan's bf. We had fun hanging out and the guys are going to head out with John Eric and Shannon this morning to watch them catch a gator that's in a buddies pond. PRAYER REQUESTS: Andrew has a little bit of a cold, pray that he recovers quickly, pray for mire relationships to be built and that we can see/act on the openings the Lord provides, pray for John tristens bf, no one from the church had met him before pray that the Lord would work on his heart and he would get connected with the church. Thanks!

  • Day #2

Hey guys! Today was the first day of vbs here in Hackberry and it was a lot of fun! the first part of the day we rested and did our devos. It's been cooler the last few days so that has been nice. Andrew, Kramer and I went for a drive and saw our first gator on the side of the road, if was dead and we stopped and took pictures. Then the rest of the day we helped set up for vbs. We ran registration, the slides, the sound for the music and the games. We had a great time getting to know all of the kids. There was about 40 kids and they were a blast. After the younger kids left we ate dinner and then had a Bible study for older students led by Jimmy brown. At the study we met Clint and Cory. They are super cool! Be praying for them and pray more older students come and that we can invite others to join us the rest of this week!

  • Day #1

Our first full day in hackberry was great! We got in last night around 12:30 and met the pastor Jason at the church. We got settled in and went right to bed. This morning we ate a great breakfast cooked by our friend Jimmy. Then we went to Bible study And got to meet some of the other congregation, everyone here is so nice! We then went to the sanctuary and went to the service, Jason rocked it. We got introduced and met a ton more people and some students that we will be hanging out with this week. After eating lunch provided by Jimmy Brown the ower of the local grocery store, we got to head out on our own and went to get some supplies, and also drove to the beach (the water is so warm!) We then had Bible study #2 taught by Jimmy brown and talked about Luke 19. after dinner we helped set up for vbs which starts tomorrow night! We're so blown away with how nice everyone is, and we feel like we haven't even done much yet! Please join us in prayer for the vbs to go well, especially the later time with the older highschool students. As we talked about Luke 19 today i was reminded that we as Christians need to be the "trees" that help others see Christ. Pray that we will be able to do this, and that we will be a blessing to the people here as we partner together in ministry. parker

  • We're on our way!

Hey guys we are currently 35,000 ft in the air on our way to Hackberry! We had a great launch yesterday with Brian and Walt it was a great time to hang out, have fun, do some great challenges (and win walts money!), and also talk a bit more about why we are going. We're so excited to finally be going to Louisiana! Be praying for our team and the people/students that we will be hanging out with, pray that we will be an encouragement and that people will get saved! We'll update again soon! Parker
